Rob Morris

Role: Team Leader, Signwriting and Graphics

Length of service: I joined the company in July 2002.

What are your expert areas? I like to draw by hand and then signwrite.

Background? Where did you grow up? Schools? What were you doing before working at Whitby Morrison? I studied at Sandbach School and grew up in the local area.  I joined the company straight from school, starting in the paint shop.

What are the values that you share with Whitby Morrison?  Freedom of mind and creativity, no two jobs are the same.  Every job is a step forward from the previous.

If you could add one thing to the Whitby Morrison Factory, what would it be? An additional five minutes on the morning brew would be very welcome!

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be? Understanding the meaning behind the creation of life, knowledge of time, opening your mind.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you? I often travel around Europe Mountain Biking, I’ve seen some amazing places.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to work at Whitby Morrison, my childhood ambition came true.

Who would play you in a movie about your life? Someone quiet and unique to reflect my own personality.

What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend? I like to get out on my bike, have a few drinks and continue the renovation work on my house.  Not necessarily in that order.

Are you a dog person or a cat person (or neither)? I’m a dog person, always have been.

What’s your favourite sport to watch and which team do you support?  There’s a lot of variety, no two jobs are the same, there’s a chance to be creative and open minded.

What do you like most about your job? Working with a great team and having a laugh while we turn out some of the finest Ice Cream Vans.

What are your hobbies? Mountain Biking especially, but also attending Heavy Metal gigs

What is your favourite film? I’m not really a film person, cant recall the last time I watched one!

What is your favourite food? Steak and Chips for me, but it has to be a good one.

I will never be seen without? A paintbrush in my hand, feels unnatural without one!

What is Whitby Morrison? It reflects my creative personality, there’s an opportunity for continuous improvement and be something special.
